Alan Imlah - Appreciation

Alan was born in Perth in 1935 and educated at Perth Academy.

When called up for National Service he served with the Royal Army Service Corps in Germany. On resuming his career on demob he spent six years in Africa where he learned to speak fluent Swahili.

He married Wilma in 1967 and they have two daughters Kay and Gail.  On moving to Inverness in 1974 Alan took up a position as an accountant with the Local Authority Water Board becoming Director of Finance.

He was invited to join Rotary in 1982 becoming president in 1993/94, the year that Bill Pirrie was District Governor and Alan and this Club organised the District Conference in Aviemore.

Alan was a loyal friend to many and he leaves this world a better place for his being here.
