Rotarians are committed to regular attendance at meetings, not just the weekly lunch gathering where we talk shop, wind down and solve the problems of the world, but all kinds of other events. Some raise money, some are on behalf of others and some are just...fun! The Inverness club gets involved in all kinds of things every year:

  • we do things for youngsters, like a primary school quiz, the ‘kids out’ day for disadvantaged kids and the RYLA scheme for up and coming teenagers.
  • At the other end of the age scale we have outings for old folks and a Christmas parcel scheme
  • We are a sporting bunch (joints willing) ... golf features quite a bit as you might expect, but we curl too, walk the hills, fish the rivers and even try our hand at cricket and ten pin bowling.
  • In recent years we have raised over £50k from sports dinners, cooked (and sold) thousands of burgers at the annual Marymas fair and sung hundreds of Hymns for Hymn Aid! We have also helped out at the Black Isle Show, the Loch Ness Marathon and organised blood pressure checks at Stroke Awareness Day.
  • And to let our hair down we might have a McGonagall night (complete with Cow Pie) or ‘Taking the Thistle’; no Karaoke nights yet, but give us time!
